Our story

A story of family and passion. At the time, Alexandre Borde set up the company as a cannery, making preserved wild mushrooms. He travelled the world to promote these exceptional products: wild mushrooms.

Established in Saugues for over a century, in the heart of the Gévaudan region, the company has expanded abroad thanks to its expertise and innovation.

Dried mushrooms, preserved mushrooms, freeze-dried mushrooms, frozen mushrooms, Maison Borde offers you a wide choice of mushrooms in all their forms. It is possible to buy mushrooms all year round, thanks to our different preservation methods! We sell many varieties of mushroom: porcini, chanterelles, morels, fairy ring mushrooms, slippery jacks, oyster mushrooms, black trumpets, shiitakes, white mushrooms... a wide variety of mushrooms that are as interesting for their taste as for their nutritional value. The family business is now known and recognised the world over when it comes to wild mushrooms.

Our human values

  • Equality between men and women: Maison Borde attaches great importance to equality between men and women in the workplace. The index is calculated on the basis of several criteria: pay gaps, pay rises, promotions, the number of maternity leaves and returns after leave, and parity among the highest salaries. Thanks to the efforts made by all our employees, Borde has achieved a score of 99/100.

  • Career prospects: we are committed to developing the skills of all our employees, in particular through training opportunities. We promote the integration of disabled employees by working with specialised establishments (ESAT): in 2021, we created a permanent contract for one person. Trainees and working students are also regularly taken on. This is a real opportunity for them to discover the world of business and to guide them in their career path. They have a period of training and integration within the company, enabling them to familiarise themselves with the products and processes and to get to know the work teams. We regularly give these young apprentices the opportunity to be taken on at the end of their training. Finally, when the post allows it, internal promotions are carried out within the company.
  • Well-being in the workplace: well-being in the workplace is essential in our company. Safety is an integral part of this, in particular through all the work equipment made available to employees so that they can work in the best possible conditions. Prevention is carried out to limit psycho-social risks, with various actions put in place: reflexology sessions, etc.
